This new version of the site is the combination of over 2 months work by me (Arcath) and star.torturer. Although this version DOES NOT have the game yet it is a solid backbone, on which we can quickly and efficiently install the game.
This version does have:
- A set of very nice Forums, that are already coded to support individual clan sections etc…
- A full User CP, and user profile
- Auto maintenance during high load (yes that means that if we have too many people online at once the site actually turns itself off)
- A full BBcode function. The whole site now runs of BBC instead of the JavaScript editor that previous versions used. It also has auto censoring and smiley support
- An improved private messaging system which now hosts an outbox and other features
- A help desk which is soon to be filled with many documents to help anyone use the many features that we have created
But all that pales in comparison with the permissions system. We have spent most of the down time fixing loopholes in the user system so that we can have secure sections of the site for usage only by a select few. I know that I am certainly happy to see the other side of that system.
Although most of you reading this are probably saying What do forums, permissions, BBCode etc… mean to me??? I want the game!
Well because we have these system in place it means that we will be able to build the game without having worry about having to go back and do work that had to be done.
We will keep you informed as we continue to develop the game.
